…it’s off to work I go! Just a quick update on a couple of things.
First, I started my new job yesterday! I already love it. Yesterday was slow and it probably will be for a couple of weeks but once I get settled in, I’ll be able to set my own schedule and I really like all the people I work with. I’ll be doing taxes which I’ve never done before so that’ll be a challenge but I’m up for it! Still doing Arbonne on the side too - I can’t give that up.
In other news, thanks to our new alarm system I’m sleeping much better at night.
I also need to update on my sister-in-law, Kimberly. For those who don’t know (or forgot) she is 22, had a stroke last summer and was in ICU for 27 days, then inpatient rehab for another week or two. She has been doing great. Last week she had an embolization of some of the vessels of the AVM in preparation for a radiation surgery in a couple of months. The radiation causes the vessels to become weaker and thus increases the chances of it re-bleeding, causing another stroke. The embolization is supposed to make the vessels stronger so that the chances of re-bleeding stayed low. Everything went smoothly but then a couple hours after the procedure Kimberly started losing use of her left side again (she had pretty much regained everything she lost). At this point, she can move her left leg pretty well, her left arm a little bit, but has lost all of her fine motor skills on her left side. She is understandably frustrated because she has been doing physical and occupational therapy three times a week since August of last year and now she’s about back where she started, and it’s very possible that she’ll go through the same thing again after the radiation. So, PLEASE keep her and Jacob in your prayers. If you’d like to read more, she and Jacob both update this blog so that friends and family can keep up.
I think that’s about it for now. I’ve got to go dig up some summer clothes for work because it’s supposed to be 77 degrees today! Of course tomorrow it’ll be back in the 3o’s…love that Oklahoma weather.
